QC photos: what a warehouse check covers, and how to read the pictures

Use the received-item record, not a catalogue photo. Historical policy examples below need confirmation against the current terms of the order.

QC stands for quality check: the agent’s inspection and photos of a received item. Use those records to compare the delivered option with what you paid for, then check the deadline for any return or service request.

What a quality check is, and who does it

A warehouse check matches a received item to the order and examines the visible areas within the inspection service’s scope. Arrival, intake, inspection and photo publication can happen at different times. Open the actual Warehouse record rather than assuming a courier delivery scan means the photos are ready.

It is not a laboratory test and not an authenticity check. Mulebuy’s help pages, as archived in August 2026, said its QC photos were for reference and did not constitute a full product certification. The open agents we read in October 2026 drew similar lines: JoyaGoo described its arrival check as visual only, Tigbuy called its own a general check that might not test electronics, and LoongBuy’s inspection page set out a comparable scope. What a check gives you is a timestamped look at your specific item before you decide to keep it, return it or ship it.

Five stages of a warehouse quality check: parcel opened, matched to the order, looked over, photographed, posted to your account

The scope Mulebuy published in August 2026

Mulebuy’s quality check page listed both sides. It checked appearance (color, large damage, stains, scratches, deformation), completeness, the size, model, version and quantity, and simple non-electronic functions such as zips, wheels and buttons. It did not check color difference against the listing, how well an item worked in use, screens, whether electronics powered on, internal structure, materials, chemical safety, waterproofing, durability or battery health. Factory-wrapped items stayed closed.

Mulebuy’s dated pages described standard and paid custom photos separately, with different standard-image ranges across versions. A fixed count cannot tell you whether the size label or required measurement is visible. Check the actual set and the current price of a requested extra view. The August 2026 QC policy required an after-sales request before outbound shipment; do not wait for parcel dispatch to raise a mismatch.

How to check QC photos: a reading order

Open the seller’s listing in one window and the warehouse photos in another, then go through them in this order:

  1. Option. Color and size label match what you chose. Read the size tag if it is in frame.
  2. Count. Every piece of a set or pack is there.
  3. Shape. Proportions match the listing: collar, hem, sole, strap length.
  4. Details. Stitching lines, print placement, hardware, zips. Compare with the seller’s detail photos.
  5. Damage. Stains, pulls, scuffs, loose threads.

Comparables help here too. If you saved photos from other listings of the same kind, they show what is normal for this sort of item, so you do not return a hoodie for a feature every comparable shares.

Asking for a measurement photo

A useful extra photo answers a specific missing question, such as flat chest width or insole length. Describe the start and end points, units and selected item. Mulebuy’s dated extra-photo pages used different price and photo-count wording; request the current quotation instead of assuming a past charge applies. A tape photo documents the visible measurement, not overall fit or material quality.

Ask for one measurement, the one that decides fit for you. For tops that is usually chest width laid flat; for trousers, waist and inseam; for shoes, the insole length. Compare the number with your own garment, measured the same way, not with the size chart alone.

The single most useful measurement to request for tops, trousers, shoes, bags and belts

Keep, return or exchange before the window shuts

After reading the photos, record what is resolved and what still needs an answer. You may ask about a return or exchange, but seller eligibility, the item’s condition and the deadline all matter. Mulebuy’s August 2026 policy used five days (120 hours) from Stored for eligible requests, not from when the buyer viewed the photos. Verify the applicable order terms before relying on that historical example.

Ask who will pay each charge before arranging a return. Mulebuy’s August 2026 example listed domestic postage and a USD 0.75 service fee for customer-reason returns; an earlier version had a first-request waiver. Neither version is a current quotation. A fault claim needs the paid option and received-item evidence, followed by the seller’s actual acceptance and confirmed cost allocation.

The glasses and the case: compare the paid contents

The display includes more than the glasses. It does not prove that every option includes the case and cloth. The sticker and printed packaging also cannot prove UV protection, lens quality or authenticity.

Before paying, list the contents actually described for your option. At the warehouse, match that list to the received set and ask for missing angles if a hinge, frame arm or accessory cannot be seen. A single front picture should not be labelled a full functional inspection.

If a promised case is missing, send the written option and the received-item photo together. If the case was only a prop in the seller gallery, the picture alone may not support a missing-item claim. This distinction is why comparables must match both specification and package contents.
